British Eventing Training Day For Coaches

9th July 2012

Today I headed to Hill Farm for a BE coaches training day. It was a fabulous experience & I came away really inspired. We spent the morning on theory & discussion – I picked up some new coaching tips and affirmed my knowledge of coaching styles. It was great to have a natter with fellow coaches and discuss the new BE accreditations which will come into play next year. In the afternoon we all got stuck in with some teaching. I taught a lovely working pupil who was newly based at the yard with her gorgeous (in fact my dream horse does exist!) Intermediate Event horse. We worked on the Scales of Training to warm up then progressed to some movements for her 2Star test. I came away from the day with lovely feedback and a plan of action as to where I am taking my goals next!

I am always looking to improve my coaching and pick up any new teaching methods or training exercises. I feel as a coach it is important to keep your Professional Development (CPD) moving forwards and there is always something new to learn.
